Dear Kindergarten Families,
To our newest Hurricanes entering Kindergarten, I am excited to welcome you and your families to Westhampton Beach Elementary School and begin this important new chapter together. Kindergarten is a time filled with growth, discovery, and joyful learning. Our team is here to support you and your child every step of the way, starting with a smooth and welcoming transition into the school year.
Summer Mailings will be heading to you next week, and inside, you will find class placement information, supply lists, calendars, dismissal procedures, PTA materials, and other helpful resources. As always, we have created class placements thoughtfully and comprehensively, with input from staff. These placements represent our final class lists for the upcoming school year, and I ask that you continue to trust the process and the professionals who care deeply for your children. We are very excited to open our doors on Thursday, September 3rd, for the first day of school. Staff members have been working tirelessly to create warm, welcoming classrooms and prepare for an engaging year of learning. It is truly an honor to work in a community where parents, staff, and students support one another and contribute to a positive and caring school environment. Kindergarten Visit and Supply Drop-Off
Tuesday, September 1st
To ease any first-day jitters and give students a chance to become familiar with their new classroom, we invite all Kindergarten families to visit the building and meet their teachers on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026, at the times listed below. This brief visit is a wonderful opportunity for your child to see the classroom, meet their teacher, and drop off supplies in advance to help lighten backpacks on the first day. When you arrive, please use the breezeway entrance on Oneck Lane. Your child’s teacher assignment will be in the summer mailing. Below is a quick reference to each classroom’s location and visit time:
We understand that the first day of school in a new building can bring both excitement and nervousness. These visits are designed to ease the transition and help students begin to feel at home.
